I accomplish art using various types of Media. Mixed media in a unorthodox type of renderings on 300 cold press illustration board, my forte of late. I have and can use oils, acrylics, pen and inks, scratch art and various types of water based media, in the two dimensional style. My subject matter has been painting and drawing American Indian dancers from many pow wow scenes in the United States. Upon special commission(s) I accomplish other subject matter using various orthodox media.
Today's heroes are many, mine were described heroes, Jim Thorpe, Marie Tallchief, Vice President Curtis, Ira Hayes, to mention a few, then there are my personal association heroes, friends, remembered uncles, aunts, cousins and of course, my Grandfather and Grandmother, whose true stories and tales of my personal tribal history had influence my life to go out into the world and be the person I am today. I still have many personal heroes that are alive and well.
I am a member of the Shoshone-Bannock tribes, Ft. Hall Indian Reservation and can trace my linage to the Lemhi-Shoshone Nation. My academic credits, include: Associate of Arts- general Studies Degree, Associate of Science- Electronics degree, a Associate of Arts Degree, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree-Sociology with a Minor in Psychology. I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1989 the same spring initializing the beginnings of Contemporary American Indian Arts (CNAA) a American Indian owned business and a continuing viable entity in the small businesses of today.
Traveling in the operative-executive level position, I attend approximately 56 pow wows in a 52 week year marketing and interacting personally with many of my artistic subjects personally. Through the course of my travels, L. David Eveningthunder C"NAA has become one of the most visible of small business concerns on the pow wow scenes in the United States today.
