OKA KAPASSA - Return to ColdwaterSeptember 12, 2008 - 9:00am - September 13, 2008 - 7:30pm Special American Indian Festival with up to 12 tribes represented to celebrate their culture and traditions that once thrived in North Alabama. Friday activities are for school children. Saturday's events will be scheduled performances to include dance, storytelling, hoopdancing, and special tributes. The climax will be a special show with canoes in the spring and the lighting of the torches, a tribute to Tuscumbians who were credited for always treating the Indians in a fair and humanitarian way. Free camping for dancers and vendors. Camp feed Thursday, Friday and Saturday night for dancers, vendors, and volunteers. 20 vendors. Host Drum is the All Nations Drum. All other drums invited.
