The Wampum Shop

Ken is a qualified and expert tutor on the subjects of Wampum Belts, The Great Law, Haudenosaunee Oral history, Longhouse Ceremonies, Cayuga Language and more. Ken established the Wampum Shop in March 2003. It is located in Ohsweken, Ontario on the Six Nations Reservation.

Ken has been making reproduction Wampum Belts for more than 20 years. He also makes canes, Condolence Canes, Horn Rattles, Traditional Headdresses and more. Ken is one of the very few people who still make Wampum Beads, by hand, from the Quahog shell.

Ken's words: "I am not doing this work alone. My ancestors guide me and I follow. If we wish to survive, our history and language must be kept alive. I am dedicating my life to this task. Nyaweh Sogwayadihsoh for your gifts. I will use them with care. All that I shall learn, I will pass on to the next generations."
